Managing Trial Attorney - Workers Compensation (Hybrid in Fresno, CA)

Salary: $146,000 - $214,000

Position Overview:

They are currently looking to expand their legal team and add a Trial Attorney to handle the defense of complex Workers’ Comp cases under the state administrative process regarding the Workers’ Compensation matters. This role will act as both a Trial Attorney with a reduced case count and an Assistant Managing Attorney of the claims legal department in a specific office.

Responsibilities:

• Support the managing attorney in managing staff members' performance through mentorship, assessment, and oversight.
• Take on the responsibilities of a trial attorney as necessary, but with a lighter caseload to allow enough office time for supervisory responsibilities.
• Respond to questions about legal and claims matters and cooperates with other departments as required or suitable.
• Collaborate with the managing attorney to put quality control measures into place, maintains the current performance standards, and, when needed, assists in the mentoring, teaching, and training of the legal staff.

Experience:

• 6 years of relevant legal experience with a focus on workers' compensation involvement
• 2 years of supervisory experience
• Juris Doctor
