Job Description:

The Career Development Manager is responsible for the journey of a member from student to early career professional while developing opportunities for the FICPA to advance, connect, and support them through each stage within their career. This includes managing programs and initiatives and outreach efforts that recruit college students. This position will rethink the current student membership model to create professional pathways by supporting the transition and conversion from student member to CPA candidate and regular member.

***Candidates must reside in the Orlando metro area to be considered. This is a hybrid position which includes in-office and work from home days.***

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and implement programs and services to build and cultivate relationships with firms and college/university partners to increase awareness of the CPA profession and the FICPA amongst students, educators, and early career professionals.
• Manage student outreach and engagement through campus visits to attract college students to the profession and the FICPA in collaboration with the Career Development Manager. Promote and facilitate events and activities in collaboration with firms and college universities.
• Provide oversight of accounting career programs at various colleges statewide. Identify new schools and build the awareness pipeline through proactive outreach to create an FICPA presence and student ambassadors on more campuses.
• Manage Student Outreach and engagement through campus visits in collaboration with the Academic Manager.
• Maximize student awareness of both the FICPA and the FICPA Scholarship Foundation’s programs, scholarships, and exam prep partnerships that can support a student on the lifecycle of their career journey while maximizing the benefits of both organizations.
• Create and develop young professional programming initiatives such as Leadership Academy, and Bridge the Gap in collaboration with the FICPA Scholarship Foundation to increase value for members/scholars and enhance revenue opportunities for both organizations.
• Develop and monitor the budget for each program.
• Work collaboratively with Regional Directors of Membership to provide oversight and assistance to localized YCPA groups and FICPA chapters in the development of events, including networking opportunities, alignment on initiatives, social activities and leadership training. Attend events as necessary.
•  Manage the educator, student and young professionals marketing such as the newsletters and webpages.
• Provide staff support to the Young CPA Committee.
• Manage the strategy for educators, students and young professionals by engaging them in events and initiatives supporting the CPA profession such as Educator Summit, Student Field Day, Accounting Scholars Leadership Symposium, CPA Day of Service, Horizon Awards, and Newly Certified Ceremony.
• Guide students on issues related to student members to assist in the transition to professional member through engagement opportunities.
