Overview:

The Grants Program Manager assists with overall grants management, grant writing, reporting, monitoring, and works closely with program staff to offer guidance and technical assistance. Tasked with working closely with the various departments within Tribal Operations, the Grants Program Manager assists with oversight of all aspects of grants from application to award to utilization to compliance and reporting. Additionally, the Grants Program Manager assists with ensuring that the grants reflect the priorities of the department and aligns with the overall strategic goals of the division, operations, and organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with overall general monitoring of all tribal grants. Assists with development of strategies to optimize grants writing and administration processes.
  • Measures and evaluates grant opportunities and awards.
  • Collaborates with departments to implement grants according to the needs of the tribe and under the rules and regulations of the grant.
  • Works closely with department leaders to keep them informed about grant-related deadlines, deliverables, and reporting.
  • Assists with overseeing proper invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other related documents to ensure successful grant process.
  • Assists with preparation of financial planning in collaboration with the finance department in accordance with each grant requirement.
  • Assists with analysis of grants and budget trends and makes recommendations accordingly. Provides detailed reports regularly to department and senior leaders on grants progress.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Three years experience in one, or a combination of, the following fields: Nonprofit, Grants Management, or Government Agency. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience writing grants, writing for deadlines, and grant reporting structure.
  • Experience developing and implement new programs and initiatives.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, tribal leadership, employees at all levels, media, and community members.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
  • Financial Awareness: Actively seeking opportunities to optimize financial costs and investments when making decisions that have a financial implication.
  • Data Gathering and Analytics: Collecting, consolidating, and using relevant information; recognizing important information; tracing possible causes of problems, and searching for practical data/solutions.
  • Planning and Organizing: Setting priorities and defining actions, time, and resources needed to achieve predefined goals.
  • Oral Communication: Shaping and expressing ideas and information in an effective manner.
  • Written Communication: Expressing ideas and opinions clearly in properly structured, well organized, and grammatically correct reports or documents; utilizing language and terminology that is understandable for the reader.
  • Results Orientation: Being persistent and showing perseverance on achieving concrete and tangible results out of personal responsibility; getting optimum results from situations and being ready to take action and show tenacity in case of obstacles or resistance.

Minimum Pay Rate:
$65,847 annually
Maximum Pay Rate:
$82,309 annually
