As a Documentation Control Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment where you will provide management and control of engineering release process and documentation for sustaining engineering and new product development. What you’ll do:

  • Manage, document, and control engineering release processes including engineering change (EC), new product release, and technical publications (Technical Bulletins, IOMs, and product data sheets).
  • Manage engineering data input and control in ERP (Syteline), Product Configurator, Quality Management System (QMS) database (Unipoint).
  • Manage all engineering documentation including CAD models/prints, assembly documentation, engineering test procedures and records, and technical publications including manuals and technical bulletins.
  • Manage EC process through ERP and engineering product data management (PDM).
  • Drive continuous improvement of companywide engineering change process using advanced database management and data integration tools to streamline workflows, eliminating waste and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT department to integrate EC process into ERP system for better visibility of product change & release process across the company.
  • Assist ISO 9001:2015 registration activities for engineering through documenting, training, and enforcing process development and adoption.
  • Specify and manage additional engineering data management tools and processes as needed
  • Provide frequent updates for management on all engineering data management functions.
  • Work with manufacturing, sourcing, and quality to ensure engineering data is available and accurate as needed.
  • Research, recommend, and implement additional engineering document control technology as business needs dictate.
  • Serve as engineering contact for sales/marketing requests for technical documents and data.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and identify opportunities for streamlining workflows, eliminating waste and implementing best practices.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Information Technology or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment with ERP in configuration management/data management of mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated experience with data and database management including advanced MS Excel skills and SQL experience.
  • Previous experience working with basic manufacturing technologies and processes
  • Project management skills to manage multiple projects with a successful track record of completing projects on time.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to work within cross functional teams
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience with engineering standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO) and work processes.
  • Experience managing solid modeling CAD Systems and PDM (Solidworks preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
