AKKA Technologies is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Maple, MN

PDS Tech Commercial Inc, is seeking candidates for Quality Inspector on all shifts in Maple Grove, MN
Job Summary: Inspect parts and production assemblies using electrical, visual, and/or mechanical methods to ensure adherence to specifications. Record inspection details, and may assist Quality Engineers with various tasks, including First Article Inspections, paperwork, returned goods disposition, and issuance of Corrective Action Requests.
Job Duties:
  • Provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Proficiently read internally generated and externally supplied blueprints.
  • Work under general supervision, taking direction from Quality Engineers as needed.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 and AS 9100 work instructions and department procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness in facilities, materials, and work area, exercising care in their use.
  • Follow safety practices and promptly address problems.
  • Assist co-workers as needed to meet work unit goals.
  • Actively seek continuous process improvement.
  • Train other employees and assist in the orientation of new hires if required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed, potentially in other manufacturing areas or departments based on workload.
Job Specifications:
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Electronics and mechanical vocational training.
  • Experience in a quality or technical role is advantageous.
  • Ability to make inspection decisions using blueprints, inspection procedures, and process sheets.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools and inspection equipment for testing electrical components.
  • Proficiency in geometric tolerancing and statistical process control is a plus.
  • After initial orientation, expected to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive relationships with co-workers.
  • Required certifications: J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610; potential certification to IPC-A-620.
  • Visual exams required pre-hire and biennially, confirming visual acuity of 20/20 with or without glasses, and passing a standard color vision exam.
  • Must perform job functions using a microscope, primarily in a sitting position.
  • Our client is a US ITAR facility, candidates will need to provide necessary information for export control compliance.
Hours:
  • 1st shift: 6 am to 2:30 pm, Mon-Fri
  • 2nd shift: 2:30 pm to 11 pm, Mon-Fri
  • 3rd shift: 10 pm to 6:30 am, Sun-Thur shift ends on Fri morning.
Overtime available and encouraged, but not mandatory.
Pay Rate:
  • 1st Shift: $24/hr
  • 2nd Shift: $25/hr
  • 3rd shift:$27.60/hr
Note: 3rd shift employees must be willing to train on 1st or a modified schedule.
