Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide appropriate comprehensive care to antenatal, neonate, post-partum and GYN patients. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies and professional organizations. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the patient and the family or significant others for the quality of direct and indirect nursing care delivered. Line responsibility to the Nurse Director or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
* Education
o Graduate of professional accredited nursing school required.
* Experience
o Previous mother/baby experience preferred.
* Licensure and/or Certification
o Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts required.
o BLS healthcare provider required.
o NRP certification achieved within 3 months of hire.
* Skills
o Basic nursing skills.
o Communication skills. o Assessment skills.
o Critical thinking skills. o Organizational skills. o Computer skills.
o Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
o Ability to maintain confidential information.
