Owensboro Catholic Schools is Hiring a Kindergarten Aide Near Owensboro, KY

Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking a full-time Kindergarten Aide. The successful candidate must be faith-filled, dynamic, compassionate, energetic, and willing to work collaboratively in a positive team environment.

The main role and responsibility of a Kindergarten Aide is to assist the students and to be a positive influence on the students by doing any or all the following, under the supervision of the classroom teacher:

Providing one-on-one help on classroom activities and Kindergarten skills to help students reach achievement goals

Working with small groups of students on specific skills (teacher directed)

Working with the whole class Reading stories, Singing songs, Teaching lessons, etc.

Evaluating and checking students for progress on all kindergarten skills; Conducting pre and post testing on Readiness and Kindergarten skills

Assisting the Specials Teachers during Kindergarten’s Specials Time- Staying in the special for the entire class period and helping as needed

Monitoring the students on the playground or in the classroom

Monitoring students during lunch- helping open straws, get napkins, and also reminding them of table manners, voice levels, etc

Keeping up with best practice in the classroom, attend professional development training, etc.

Serving as a positive role model for students, including strong work ethic, and a positive attitude and enthusiasm

Maintaining a high level of ethical behavior and maintaining confidentiality about students, student records, and other sensitive issues

Afternoon and Morning supervision duties- helping with bus rider and car rider dismissal

Requirements and qualifications:

High School Diploma

Have a passion for working with young children.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required

The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted

Full time employees are eligible to receive a 50% tuition discount and 35% after school discount.
