Job Description Summary: We are seeking a talented and driven Business Operations Lead to join PayPal’s Global Analytics and Data Science (GADS) team. The Business Operations Lead will be responsible for managing various projects related to Consumer and Merchant team initiatives, spearheading internal coordination to ensure deadlines are met. You will work closely with the rest of the Consumer and Merchant teams, and all of PayPal’s business units to create productivity-enhancing solutions across our organization.

Job Description:

  • Execute Chief of Staff responsibilities for Merchant and Consumer leaders. Establish communications cadence, operational review meetings, and reporting progress against goals and status of initiatives to ensure appropriate program governance while build and maintain relationships to increase collaboration and productivity.
  • Plan, lead and successfully lead transformation projects. Establish clear roles and responsibilities, and lead as the driving force behind the process of aligning key organizational stakeholders across product, instrumentation and analytics teams.
  • Capture, consolidate and interpret performance metrics and data from multiple systems to create effective management reporting. Develop tools and processes to enable streamline inefficiencies. Recommend process improvements. Automate existing workflows to improve the efficiency of the company.
  • Set up and maintain departmental document repositories, global distribution lists, and various databases for leadership-level information dissemination and archiving.
  • Utilize frameworks to help structure the team’s thinking, drive visibility, and facilitate alignment. Streamline/automate existing processes and recommend process improvements to improve the efficiency of the company.
  • Support the vision and values of the program management and operations team by leading domain education learning series, communications creation, brown bag sessions, and x-domain fire drill support and other team initiatives as requested.
  • Collaborate with other business units to ensure coordination and alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives

  • Represent the Merchant and Consumer teams in internal meetings with senior stakeholders, including the senior leadership team and business unit heads, to provide updates on progress and ensure alignment with the organization's overall strategy.

  • Serve as member and key advisor to the Merchant and Consumer leadership teams, providing insights, recommendations, and guidance on various strategic and operational matters


Requirements
:

  • 4 years of relevant experience in strategy, product, analytics, project/program management preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of analytics concepts with past exposure to projects involving digital products, product KPI, and experimentation. A broad understanding of data flow, instrumentation, and tracking is great to have.
  • A self-starter who uses great judgment to keep programs and projects moving forward and completed on target.
  • Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define and document new or improved business planning and management processes and reporting mechanisms. Demonstrated understanding of process improvement programs and processes, with experience driving them successfully within organizations highly preferred.
  • Highly skilled in framework development, creation of presentations, new reporting mechanisms, and other documents. High attention to detail with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill it in crisp, clear language appropriate for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles. Proactive, resourceful, and creative in fully utilizing available analytics resources and data to consolidate excellent analysis
  • Excellent organization, verbal communication, presentation, coordination, and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in, and influence change at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-based environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and service-oriented.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business administration, engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related fields

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, or related fields

  • Proven experience working within a fintech, technology company, or a high-growth startup
