Virtual Reading Specialist at VocoVision

Hours: Part-time about 13 hours a week for 2 students

The Role: As a Virtual Reading Specialist, you'll work with students of all ages and abilities to develop their literacy skills in a virtual setting. Whether it's decoding words, improving comprehension, or fostering a love for reading, you'll tailor your instruction to meet each student's unique needs. Using cutting-edge technology and evidence-based strategies, you'll provide engaging and effective reading interventions that empower students to succeed.
What You'll Do:

• Conduct assessments to identify students' reading strengths and areas for growth
• Develop personalized reading plans based on assessment data and individual learning goals
• Deliver virtual reading instruction through live sessions and interactive activities
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to support students' reading development
• Stay up-to-date on best practices in literacy instruction and educational technology

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
• Massachusetts State Licensure as a Special Education Teacher with a reading endorsement
• Experience working as a reading specialist or literacy coach
• Strong understanding of reading development and evidence-based interventions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Tech-savvy with experience using virtual learning platforms
• Reliable internet connection
