Seasonal Part-Time Accounting/Admin Office Assistant

Bretton Woods Recreation Center is a privately owned country club with over 1500 members. Bretton Woods is a truly unique private club with a very high percentage of international members from all over the world. The 285-acre property includes 18 holes of golf, 14 tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, 2 soccer fields, 3 playgrounds, and a full team building ropes course. Located on the Potomac River, the Center has numerous water activities as well.

Reports to:Controller

Supervises: None

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent with no less than 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to follow through on projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Essential Functions

  • Answer phones and route calls to the appropriate department.
  • Various accounting tasks and data entry as assigned. This may include journal entries, accounts receivable adjustments, etc.
  • Record management and restaurant special checks in g/l daily. Monitor the balances and request replenishments as needed.
  • Order office supplies- ensure competitive pricing.
  • Order banners, signs, yard signs, etc. as needed.
  • Post member payments.
  • Interface with service providers such as phones, internet, copier, etc. Assist staff where possible / refer to support.
  • Maintain departmental phone list and make changes when needed.
  • Maintain wall calendars for GM and accounting.
  • Track GM expenses and prepare expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure receipt of chits from each department daily. File daily.
  • Various administrative tasks as assigned.

Skills:

  • The ability to communicate with co-workers, management, members, vendors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • General knowledge of accounting and an understanding of general ledger accounts.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Basic knowledge of processing documentation required to pay invoices.
  • Ability to operate computer and other general office equipment.
