What You Will Do:
Filing reports, requisitions and delivery logs.
Transcription responsibilities to include, final reports and addenda as necessary. Daily slide filing, logistics, pulling and send outs, as well as sorting of reports daily to ensure same day delivery.
Data entry of laboratory requisitions. Reviewing appropriate signatures, patient data, tests requested, physician and billing information for accuracy.
Providing information to physician offices regarding specimen requirements, sorting reports daily to ensure same day delivery.

Additional clerical duties may be necessary for the successful operation of the histology laboratory and surgical pathology department and maintenance of all patient information as required for diagnosis/insurance or billing.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree, health-related field, preferred.
Experience: 2 years of laboratory administrative experience.
Skills: Minimum of 60 wpm typing speed, requires transcription skills, medical terminology, knowledge of office procedures, equipment, and computers. Initiative to complete daily tasks. Requires, teamwork, communication skills and ability to prioritize work. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically interact with staff and clinician’s offices.
