Michigan Medicine Human Resources General HR Services provides supreme customer service to our Michigan Medicine employee's and leaders with support and advice related to their HR Operational needs. We are seeking an HR Assistant to support and be a part of this amazing team of HR professionals. Overall, this role is responsible for providing multiple types of support related to HR processes, transactions and providing coverage on a contact center phone line.

Responsibilities*
The primary duties of this position are to provide the following services, under the general direction of the General HR Services Lead and the Services Manager:
* Respond to general HR policy and practice questions from employees, managers, supervisors via phone, email or through a case management system.
* HR Liaison for non-bargained for employee grievances. This includes answering questions from the employee, scheduling, and sending out the grievance packet to the committee.
* Retrieve, sort and distribute HR Office mail, this requires the individual to be in the office at least one day a week
* Record Discipline within HRMS and upload to personnel file
* Respond to third-party requests to subpoena employment records
* Process and upload documents to the employee personnel file
* Respond to and manage requests for missing I9 forms
* May assistant with the creation of personnel action requests (PARS)
* May provide administrative support to the HR Services Manager
* Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment delivering high quality customer service
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to demonstrate independence, and flexibility in supporting multiple units, within a high-volume work environment.
* Proficient in standard office computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google, Drop Box)
* Effective communication skills, including personable phone skills, active listening skills and strong written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work well within a diverse, team environment.
* Requires 2-5 years of experience working in an administrative support role
Desired Qualifications*
* Experience with administration of HR transactions and/or administrative support within a HR department.
* Knowledge of MPathways/PeopleSoft platforms
* Experience using a case management system
* Experience in a contact center environment
* Familiarity with administrative processes, procedures, and systems at the University of Michigan
Work Schedule
This is a part-time - 20 hours a week position. The schedule (days and hours of the week) could vary depending on the needs of the team.
This position requires the ability to work remotely and the ability to come into the office, located at the North Campus Administrative Complex on Hubbard Rd, Ann Arbor at least one day a week.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
