Position: Security Guard – Part Time
Reports to: Security Supervisor
Type: Part-time; $20/hr
Opportunity:
The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) is seeking part-time security guards. The position
provides security for the premises and art work as well as security for weddings, corporate
events, and concerts held at the museum. Hours include days, evenings, weekends and some
holidays. Great opportunity for anyone wishing to learn about art and to be a part of a
customer service oriented team!
Requirements:

• Security guard certification required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• High school diploma or GED with demonstrated reading and writing proficiency.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Must be able to interact with the general public and Museum staff.
• Must be able to stand and remain alert for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Evening/weekend open availability preferred.

Job Duties:
Observe patrons within the assigned post; report any problems that occur; prevent damage
and theft to the art and property located inside the Museum and outside on the Museum
grounds; observe all visitors within the assigned post to ensure that no art is damaged or
removed from the premises; advise visitors of Museum policies for viewing the collection.
Give polite verbal warnings if the safety of the art is threatened. Examples may consist of
asking visitors to not touch or get too close to the art.
Additional Information:

• The position is a part time hourly position.
• MOLAA is open to the public Wednesday – Sunday with extended hours on Thursday and

the work schedule includes these days including evening hours and/or weekends.

• Requires the ability to lift 25 pounds.
