SJCA is a preschool through high school institution offering an educational experience in the arts, languages, sciences, and technology. This is a part-time, 10 month position with benefits.St. Joseph Catholic Academy is looking for a part-time Reading Interventionist for the 2024-25 school year. The general function of this position is to provide reading interventions for students identified as off pace for College and Career Readiness (below 25th percentile on state/local assessments).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide skills development to identified struggling readers in the area of reading comprehension.
2. Provide phonemic awareness to students.
3. Conduct intervention using a planned sequence of activities.
4. Progress monitor and plan for students
5. Utilize software programs such as Canvas.
6. Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, positive, team oriented attitude.
7. Consult with school and staff on universal reading instruction strategies
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
Computer knowledge necessary.
Must possess a General Education Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Reading Teacher or Reading Specialist teaching license.
Ability to work well with students and staff.
