40 hrs/week, 201 days per year

Starting salary range: $91,000-$95,000

Location: Twin Knolls, Bend, OR

Starting: July 1, 2024

SPECIAL EDUCATION (K-12) SUPERVISOR

Definition The supervisor co-leads the planning, development and implementation of various
general education and special education programs within the ESD. The supervisor provides leadership,
guidance and direction to support service staff to set and achieve the highest standards of excellence,
and provide sound and visionary education programs and student support services for children and
families. Supervision and staff training is required.

Qualifications There is a minimum requirement of a valid appropriate Oregon School Administrator’s
license and knowledge in program management, and knowledge in budgeting with the ability to
successfully manage an education program. Working knowledge of general and special education
practices and pertinent laws is required. It is required to have access to reliable transportation.

Classification Supervisor/Manager

Reports To Director Special Programs

Performance Responsibilities1. Co-direct the delivery of educational and student support programs
2. Assist in the recruitment, select and assign qualified staff members to deliver services within programs
3. Assist in the development and oversee budgets that meet the requirements of the funding agencies, follow ESD procedures, and ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources
4. Assist in the planning and implementation of staff development activities that meet identified program needs and increase the expertise of staff
5. Ensure requirements for program oversight and direction are met
6. Collaborate with community agencies and providers of public and private services to children and their families to strengthen the continuum, increase service options, limit duplication, and increase efficiency and economy of effort
7. Assist local districts in alternative education program design
8. Ensure program cooperation in child find activities
9. Direct the completion of program reporting activities
10. Lead staff to develop and implement programs and services which reflect current research and best practice
11. Follow and support ESD policies and procedures
12. Work cooperatively and harmoniously with clients, co-workers and supervisors
13. Respect and maintain confidential information in all situations
14. Communicate appropriately and regularly through use of email
15. Fulfill other related duties as assigned
