40 hrs/week, 8:00-4:00, 199 days per year

Starting salary range: $90,000-$94,000

Location: Tri-County EI/ECSE

Definition

The EIECSE Supervisor oversees EI/ECSE instructional staff and programs for Early Intervention and preschool children with various disabilities enrolled in EI programs and ECSE classrooms or community preschool sites. The Supervisor is responsible for providing appropriate education to exceptional children, supervising staff, and performs other functions necessary to the successful operation of the program.

Qualifications

This position requires 1. Masters Degree in early intervention/early childhood special education, special education and/or a related area. 2. Administrative license as required to supervise licensed staff and is required. 3. Three years experience working in the field of EI/ECSE as a licensed professional service provider. 4. Prior experience in program design and supervision, and staff training is desirable. Background in special education activities, including work with children with various disabilities is required. 5. The ability to perform significant reaching, bending, stooping, crouching and lifting 50 pounds is expected. 6. Must have access to reliable transportation, and consistent attendance is required. 7. Working knowledge of current state and federal laws, policies, administrative rules and instructional practices for working with students birth to five. 8. Applicants must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.

Reports To Director Early Childhood Programs

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Develop, coordinate and monitor EI/ECSE programs
  2. Oversee all aspects of program operation
  3. Supervise and evaluate staff working in EI/ECSE programs
  4. Consult regarding disciplinary matters and grievances, which might arise in area of responsibility 
  5. Assist with budget development
  6. Coordinate and conduct child evaluations and eligibility determination
  7. Participate in legally mandated meetings and represent EI/ECSE at community early childhood groups
  8. Responsible for student records management
  9. Provide consultation and/or training to other preschool staff and families regarding the services and the needs of children with disabilities
  10. Identify needed positions, develop postings, screen and interview applicants and make hiring recommendations
  11. Coordinate intake, assessment, eligibility and programs in EI/ECSE programs
  12. Support and maintain district and department policies and procedures
  13. Provide training and staff development for new staff and retrain experienced staff in performing their duties in an effective and efficient manner
  14. Ensure equal program quality at all sites
  15. Advise with respect to program quality, staff performance, and all matters related to EI/ECSE
  16. Collaborate with representatives of other agencies in providing a broad spectrum of services to eligible children and their families
  17. Communicate with school personnel, parents, other agency personnel and ESD staff regarding the coordination of Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education services
  18. Communicate clearly and appropriately in speech, in writing and in accord with educational standards
  19. Communicate appropriately and regularly through use of email
  20. Respect and maintain confidential information in all situations
  21. Fulfill other related duties as assigned

Terms of Employment A one-year contract renewable annually by the Board of Directors, under the terms and conditions of the statutes and administrative rules of the State of Oregon, conditioned upon successful evaluations and the employee’s maintenance of current, valid teaching credential. Salary, benefits and vacation are established by policy.
