The Care Specialist is the glue that holds our Day Club together. This position is perfect for the someone retired or someone who is able to work PT and also has the ability to increase their hours to fill in on Vacations. Oakwood Creative Care is not your typical Adult Day Health Center, we are a cognitive school for those in the early stages of memory impairment. We are also obsessed with giving people purpose, meaning, & dignity regardless of their diagnosis. Everyone deserves a great day and we use the power of the creative center of the brain to make that happen. From music, to art, to history classes every day is filled with joy! This position is part of an amazing team that works together, uses each others strengths, and makes a difference every day. Working for Oakwood is like winning the job lottery. It is a fun place to work. This position is part-time and has the ability for full time hours when the team is on vacations, etc.

Typical Day

• Greet and assist members and guests upon arrival/departure
• Ensure that the overall club environment is safe and inviting for all club members
• Provide personal care assistance ranging from verbal cueing to physical support. Always inspiring independence and personhood
• Maintain monthly vitals on each club member
• Prepare and serve lunch according to a planned menu, maintain proper holding temperatures, and ensure that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Spend free time connecting with members and find opportunities to spark joy
• Other duties as assigned by the Club Director

SKILLS/EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REQUIREMENTS

• Team Player
• A contagious interactive and charismatic personality
• Self-management skills to effectively handle multiple responsibilities
• Maintain Food Handler’s Card
• Freedom from TB
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Must have current DPS clearance and pass a background check
