    Position Title: Aquatic Supervisor (Part-Time)
    Reports To: Assistant Athletic Director for Aquatics
    Salary: $18/hr
    POSITION GOAL:
    Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of aquatic programs. To provide site supervision during facility rentals. Create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with RSD policies and procedures.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a supervision role in recreation, education, or aquatics related fields required.
    • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification required.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with adults and students in a diverse work environment.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Supervise lifeguards and swim instructors.
    • Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including communication skills with students, parents and facility staff.
    • Ensures that all possible safety measures are observed, including taking care of proper equipment and proper surveillance of program participants.
    • Attend all training sessions and any additional staff meetings.
    • Work flexible hours including morning, evenings and weekends.
    • Substitutes for other lifeguards or swim instructors when needed.
    • Demonstrates the ability to safely open and close the pool independently.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard.
    • Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
    • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
