Community Access Unlimited is Hiring a 11pm-9am Overnight DSP PT Near Roselle, NJ

New Pay Rates for Overnight DSP 11pm-9am Part time .

Social Service agency is currently seeking Overnight Counselors to provide supervision during the overnight hours in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The role of a DSP is to assist in the daily care of people with disabilities and provide on-site supervision and support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Your vital job functions are essential to members’ health, safety, and welfare.

Hours are 11:00PM - 9:00AM, one night a week and days will vary depending on the program.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a genuine desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.

12 days of paid orientation (M-F 9am-5pm) is required prior to the start of your assignment. In addition, ongoing paid training outside of normal work hours is required.

Full Time positions include an awesome benefits package! Positions are located in Union County. EOE

Responsibilities

  • Provides overnight supervision in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring the safety of members on the overnight shift
  • Provides hands on assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing and hygiene, and helps with fire drills and/or other health and safety issues as needed
  • Distributes and documents medications according to established standards and regulations and documents changes in medical status
  • Transports members to and from work or day program, a medical appointment, etc.
  • Helps ensure a safe, clean, organized, environment
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Attends required trainings, staff meetings, and other meetings/events as requested
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Car to use for work purposes
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus
  • Willing and able to attend required trainings outside of normal work hours
