AMFM Healthcare is looking for a Mental Health Technician/Client Coordinator to provide superior care for our clients at our Adult Residential Mental Health facilities in southern Orange County, California. We count on our Mental Health Technicians to compassionately support and mentor our clients throughout their treatment program. We are seeking those who are passionate to help those in need and provide hope. This is a great entry level position to get your foot in the door in the Mental Healthcare field!

Our clients have varying developmental and behavioral disorders, so adequate training will be provided to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care that we can provide. You will join and support a network of trained case managers, therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists who are helping us on our mission to help individuals with mental health disorders achieve a life of meaning and wellness.

Shift Schedule -

3rd Shift: 11:00pm-7:00am

Sunday - Tuesday (24 hours).

Compensation: $19.00-$23.00/hour.

Full time benefits starting at 32 hours a week include:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and transports clients in the event of an emergency, ensuring participant safety at all times and providing emergency services with appropriate information pertinent to the clients continuation of care.

  • Utilizes intervention and communication skills in working with clients.

  • Rigorously adheres to all Joint Commission policies and procedures, including Waived Testing, Infection Prevention and Control, as well as Emergency Management and Environment of Care procedures.

  • Proficiently navigate and utilize the BestNotes electronic health record system to document client activities effectively

  • Collaborate with the program nurse and clinical team regarding medication management, and monitor and report client behavior with medication side effects. Monitor and document client self-administration medications while coaching clients in self-management and documenting medications in accordance with the organization’s policy on medication use.

  • Responsible for the overall integrity of the residences, ensuring optimal cleanliness at all times and keeping the area hygienic. This role involves substantial attention to detail regarding the Environment of Care and maintaining a sanitary residence.

  • Conduct frequent observation rounds to ensure client safety using the VisibleHand rounding system, document client behavior during overnight hours. Effectively and correctly report these in daily passdowns.

  • Participate in safety drills, emergency drills, and proficiently elucidate the correct locations of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation diagrams, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits.

  • Accurately record inventories as required (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) of supplies in the residence including but not limited to: Cleaning supplies, Waived Testing supplies, Office Supplies, Personal Protective Equipment supplies, and Over The Counter Medications.

  • Effectively maintain alertness and vigilance during overnight hours at all times to ensure client safety.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check with the Federal Department of Justice (LiveScan) and California Department of Social Services
  • This position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle and to be covered under our company’s vehicle insurance, those qualifications are:
    • Current driver license with 4 years of continuous driving history;
    • Clean driving history in the past 3 years with no major traffic violations;
    • At least 21 years of age.
  • Education Requirements: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
