Grayson College is Hiring an Adjunct Speech Professor Near Denison, TX

Overview

Grayson’s reputation is highly respected by surrounding universities and industries as an excellent source of quality graduates who bring specialized, skilled and much-needed talents to the workplace. We are advertising for an adjunct SPCH instructor for a hybrid course involving a face-to-face component in Van Alstyne, TX. The applicant must be able to meet the face-to-face requirement of the course.

The salary rate for this position is $650.00 per credit hour.

Responsibilities

  • 55% Teaches no more than 9 credit hours per semester.
  • 25% Works as a team member in the Fine Arts Department; complies with the “faculty responsibilities” as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the College’s Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • 15% Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
  • 5% Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree or higher and a minimum of 18 hours of graduate-level SPCH or COMM courses is required.
    • Successful teaching at the university/college level; however professional experience may be held as equivalent.
    • Evidence of recent experience and regular, high quality work in art.
    • Experience in all areas of teaching assignments in higher education and using multiple instructional modes, i.e. online or LMS classroom as course support.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
    • High level reputation in an educational and/or professional art environment.
    • Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    This position requires original transcripts and three professional references. This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
