Hagerstown Community College is Hiring an Adjunct Instructor - CNC Machining Near Hagerstown, MD
Instructor will be expected to:
Teach both theoretical and practical (hands-on) concepts of computerized numerical control (CNC) machines, including operation, set up, and editing g-codes.
Teach an understanding of the role of "M" codes, "G" codes for linear and circular interpolation, coordinate systems for tool movement on a CNC lathe and mill, how to run a HAAS-VF3 milling machine, and program a CNC mill using drill and milling methods.
Create course syllabus and assignments for student skill development and professional growth and utilize the college Learning Management System (D2L) to enhance learning and perform administrative processes.
Motivate and engage the class in a positive setting.
Teach and demonstrate machine tool safety, blueprint analysis, speed, shop math, and quality control measures - all while following a proven curriculum and method of delivery.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or certificate in MET or an industrial program or trade school which includes CNC machining experience with a minimum of 2 years of on the job experience.
Good understanding of how to use HAAS CNC machines.
Good understand of Mill and Lathe use.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Solid mechanical aptitude and strong understanding of CNC G-Codes.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
