The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking a part-time 0.4 FTE Kingdom East School Nurse working with all seven Kingdom East School Nurses. The Goal of the Kingdom East School Nurse working with all seven schools is to support the other school nurses. This position can have flexible days and flexible hours up to 0.4 FTE and can start as soon as July 1st, 2023. The goal for this KESD school nurse is to increase the number of students who have health insurance, increase the number of students receiving well-care and dental visits, ensure vision and hearing screenings are performed in a timely manner with follow-up to make sure students are seen by a provider that needs referrals, ensure all students with special health needs have current individual health plans within the first two weeks of school and that electronic health records, help with immunization entry, and the processing of student health update forms are completed within the first weeks of school. Update and review mandatory KESD orientation and trainings, support nurses with individual health care plans and the transition to Powerschool and SNAP. School nursing is an independent specialty practice, as described in Vermont Agency of Education The Standards of School Nursing Practice.
