Kingdom East Unified Union School District is Hiring a Social and Emotional Learning Content Specialist Near Lunenburg, VT

The Kingdom East School District, serving students in preschool through eighth grade, announces hiring a dynamic part-time (0.2 FTE) Social and Emotional Learning Content Specialist assigned to the Lunenburg school. The SEL content specialist is dedicated to helping to define and create systems that foster school climate and culture (expectations with students at the start of the year, restorative practices, systems, procedures, and communications). The individual will facilitate and assist within the MTSS framework to identify and analyze data and make adjustments so that we can improve the social emotional aspect of the student, and will work in conjunction with the principal to process behavior observation data. The candidate will work closely with the principal, school-to-home coordinator, school clinician, school nurse, and school counselor on a regular basis.
The candidate will collaborate with faculty and staff with classroom SEL implementation, and work directly with students to provide targeted SEL interventions as necessary. A content specialist is a licensed teacher (or eligible) who provides direct instruction to students and, in consultation with teachers, special education case managers, and administration, serving learners needing additional interventions and support as defined by Vermont ESS and Federal IDEA statute. The content specialist is well-versed in providing layered support and instruction under the guidelines of the EST and/or 504 or IEP plans within the VTMTSS framework. The content specialist is considered an expert in their content whether it be academic, behavior, inclusion, cognitive, or social emotional learning and development.
