Yuba Community College District is Hiring a Child Development Assistant/Preschool - Part Time Near Clearlake, CA

Location: Lake County Campus - Clear Lake, CA
Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an Administrator or designee, assist in the operation of a child care center for children; assist with providing a high quality child development program.

Essential Duties Summary:
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient course work to qualify for a Child Development Associate Permit including at least twelve core units in Early Childhood Education or equivalent courses and one year of experience in a child development program. (Permit must be applied for within 30 days of the hire date)
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Child Development Associate Permit or equivalent
Appropriate First Aid and AED certificates
California Child Care Provider Health and Safety Certificate (to be obtained within 30 working days from date of hire)
Drivers license and/or ability to provide own transportation to and from assigned sites
Pre-employment Requirements
1. Education Code 87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.
2. As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employees responsibility.
Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employees first day on the job.

Range/Step: Range 19 (CSEA Salary Schedule)
Salary Range: $22.49 - $26.08/hr. (Step 5 -11)
Benefits Information:
PART-TIME (less than .60 PTE): Part-time positions less than .60 PTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits. The District does however; provide the employee prorated leaves including vacation, sick leave and paid holidays. Employees less than .50 PTE contribute to an Alternative Retirement System (Apple). Employees whose, PTE is between .50 and .60 contribute to the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
This position is anticipated to be assigned to Lake County Campus but may be assigned temporarily or permanently within the District.

Important Instructions:
The Child Development Assistant position is classified as Part Time (.50 PTE - 12 Months), entails an average commitment of 20 hours per week. The work schedule is structured into daily four-hour shifts, spanning Monday through Friday, within the timeframe of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
