BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Imaging Coordinator/Director, provides patient services using imaging modalities. Performs radiographic
procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection. Evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in
the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring
immediate action and initiates life support measures. Maintains patient confidentiality.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Performs diagnostic radiographic services.
- Provide appropriate patient education.
- Operates imaging equipment.
- Operates other equipment/devices as appropriate.
- Position patients.
- Immobilizes patients as necessary.
- Calculates exposure factors.
- Practices radiation protection.
- Evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures.
- Practices aseptic technique as necessary.
- Assist with administration of contrast media as necessary
- Assist physician with imaging procedures.
- Initiates life support measures for patient, if necessary.
2. Accurate input of computer related tasks.
3. Maintains patient records.
4. Assumes responsibility for assigned area.
5. Provides input for equipment and supply purchase decisions.
6. Instructs specific units of didactic and/or clinical education, in the radiography program, if applicable.
7. In the absence of a supervisor, assumes acting supervisory responsibilities.
8. Assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program.
9. Pursues ongoing continuing education.
10. Assists in the education of student Technologists
11. May control inventory and purchase of supplies for assigned area.
12. Responsible for checking emails and learning assignments (Relias) on a regular basis
13. All other Imaging duties assigned by Director.

AGE APPROPRIATE CARE:
Colleague has been instructed in providing customer service and on interacting with age groups as related to the department's general
client population: including use of appropriate interventions, communication and skills to match the age and/or abilities of the
patient/family.
MACHINES, TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:
All imaging units and related equipment. Other equipment and devices as appropriate.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Accredited Radiography Program, or equivalent.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiographic Technologist, or equivalent. Competency in components of radiography
practice as appropriate. Valid state licensure. Must have valid CPR Certification.
Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (Performance
Appraisal System), Relias (Education System) and the ability to retrieve e-mails, complete online enrollment for health
insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have good working knowledge of anatomy; understanding principles of physics, electricity, methods of exposure to obtain
clearly defined radiographs and to be able to set up technique charts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Stand on feet 7.5 hours/day.
• Must be able to bend.
• Must lift minimum of 25 lbs. routinely for 7.5 hours/day.
• Able to walk.
• Good vision.
• Able to use hands for tasks (writing, typing, etc.)
