The Community Schools Summer Garden Intern will manage and maintain the school gardens during peak production in the summer months. They will be responsible for all garden maintenance in alignment with each site’s fall plan. The candidate should be highly self-motivated, as much of this work requires initiative, independence, and self-direction. The manager will report to the school principal.
Duration of Program:(July 8th - August 31, 2024, 7-12 hours a week)

Each school’s garden varies in size, setup, and items growing
Mabelvale: 10 raised beds
Watson: 6 raised beds
Chicot: concrete raised bed The selected candidate will have keys or an ID badge to access the site. The intern will work with the school principal and Community School Coordinators Manage and maintain the school gardens during peak production in the summer months. They will be responsible for all garden maintenance, including the development of a plan for the fall when school comes back in session. The candidate should be highly self-motivated, as much of this work requires initiative, independence and self-direction.

Additional Requirements: Valid Arkansas Class D Drivers Licenses.
