Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications from certified elementary teachers for our Elementary English Learner Newcomer Summer Institute.
This will be a co-teaching position with an experienced EL certified teacher. An EL Credential is not required for this position.
The program will be for newcomer English learner students entering 1st through 5th grade held at Moses Elementary School. The session starts on May 29 and ends on June 28 with hours from 7:45 am to 1:00 pm each day. Programming will include newcomer English instruction, field trips, and projects/activities to build English language acquisition along with content specific vocabulary instruction.
Teachers who teach the full 4.5 weeks will be compensated for 20 hours of preparation time and 4 - 8 hours of training time. Teachers who teach less than 4.5 weeks will receive prorated compensation for preparation time and 4 - 8 hours of training time. These hours will be paid at $30.62 per hour.
All new CampEd teachers are expected to attend a full-day training. Training will be held on Tuesday, May 28th. Teachers with previous CampEd experience are expected to attend a ½ day training. Training will be held on Tuesday, May 28th.
Qualifications:
Salary is determined by placement on the 2023-24 Teacher Salary Schedule. External andidates may bring in up to 15 years of teaching experience.
