Job Summary

School Bus drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related events. School bus drivers pick up students at a designated location, such as street corners or private homes and drop them off at school. Duties and Responsibilities

Transport students in a timely manner to and from school and/or school activities while following district safety procedures and applicable State Board of Education rules and regulations.

1. Operate and safely drive a school bus in either good or adverse weather, road and traffic conditions while transporting passengers to school or special events. Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

2. Communicate bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers; and address improper behavior immediately while using appropriate interpersonal communication skills.

3. Communicate with student’s parents to solve inappropriate or unsafe behavior utilizing strong interpersonal communication skills.

4. Assist students and passengers boarding and unloading the bus when necessary, including wheelchair.

Experience and Skill Requirements

• Class A or B CDL, OR the ability to obtain.

• Endorsements: Passenger (P) and School Bus (S).

• Ability to pass medical examination.

Pay: $23.00 - $24.75 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
