Legacy Academy is a tuition-free, K-8 charter school serving families from several communities in Elbert and Douglas counties. We are a 1:1 iPad school, meaning that every student and staff member has an iPad Air to use during the school year. Each of our classrooms has access to current technology, and the staff is continually searching for new and innovative approaches to education. Legacy has a technology focus and is looking for individuals to join our innovative team. We are currently seeking a PART TIME Elementary Music and Middle School Theater teacher. This teacher needs to be proficient in their content area(s), willing to maintain and enrich their expertise, as well as possess a strong desire to integrate technology in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Teach K-3 music and one class of middle school theater/drama.
• Ability to work with an innovative online and interactive curriculum (QuaverMusic).
• Ability to facilitate a minimum of two evening performances outside of the school day per semester for our school community.
• Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences and creative projects.
• Maintains effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
• Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis and is able to foster a strong school community through music and theater.
• Collaborates effectively with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
• Maintain the privacy of student records and information.

Job Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required. CO teaching license preferred, with an opportunity to obtain alternative licensure.

Reports to: Principal / Assistant Principal

Salary: $22K to $35K yearly and the possibility to qualify for additional stipends. Based on experience and qualifications.
