Midwest Equipment Company is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Fenton, MO


Human Resources Generalist

Midwest Equipment Company is an employee-owned (ESOP), industry-leading, and award-winning distributor of commercial food service equipment encompassing a 6-state Midwestern territory. We are headquartered in Fenton MO with remote offices in Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne Indiana. Our 125 employee-owners sell, service and support our equipment offering. We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded HR Generalist to develop and lead the HR function for our company as it continues its long-standing track record of successful growth.

This position will launch the company's first formal HR department. The ideal candidate will have the exciting opportunity use their talents to establish an HR function that supports & enhances our employee/family focused culture and our brand promise to deliver exemplary customer service.

Job responsibilities will include:

Recruit/hire; New employee orientation; Records management; Employee relations; Training; Safety; HR & legal compliance; ESOP compliance; Benefits management (e.g., health, 401K, award programs, ESOP, etc.), Promote the culture; Provide counsel & technical support to management on all HR related topics/issues; Back-up payroll function; Deliver on all HR managerial, administrative, & personnel activity-related work (e.g., develop job descriptions, update personnel policies, performance management, evaluations, compensation, corrective actions, answer phones, prepare reports, etc.); Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in HR management.

Qualifications: 3 years minimum HR generalist experience in a middle market company; Microsoft Office; Proficient with Excel; Ability to multi-task; Organized; Strong attention to detail; Strong communication skills; High energy and positive attitude; Bachelor's degree, HR certification, ESOP, distribution, and/or commercial food service equipment experience are all pluses.

This is a Permanent Part-Time salaried position (minimum 32 hours per week) that offers a more flexible work option for someone who may have early morning or late afternoon obligations. As such, the candidate should be seeking part-time work.

Daily Hours: negotiable 8:30-9:30 am start to 3:00-4:00 pm finish / 5 days per week (Limited travel may be required).

Work Location: In person at Fenton MO headquarters.

Pay Range: $55K - 65K
