Description

The Part-Time Receptionist assists First Pres Hospitality in ensuring that every person who walks into First Presbyterian Church or calls on the telephone is greeted with a warm welcome and provided accurate and timely information and help in answer to their questions. In particular, this position is the front line of the church and is responsible for creating a hospitable but safe atmosphere. This consists of several part-time employees who assist the Full Time Receptionist in duties in greeting, support, security, directing visitors who need help, and as direct fill in and assistance at the Full Time Receptionist.

Qualifications

1. Function as part of the administrative pool with focus on specific ministry area(s).
2. Answer phones as a first point of contact for outside calls.
3. Facilitate correspondence, email and mailings promptly and professionally.
4. Facilitate ministry support and facility usage including: calendar, room reservations, work orders (custodial, kitchen, A/V, etc.), check requests, purchase orders, print orders, vehicle requests and other ministry support needs.
5. Create and maintain records, documents, and spreadsheets as required.
6. Attend the reception desk, acknowledge and greet each person who enters the church. (See Addendum)
7. Open each day to provide quick, correct response to any program question that may be posed either by a walk-in or phone call.
8. Follow the professional courtesies as addressed on the addendum.
9. Other duties as assigned.
