Calhoun Community College is Hiring a Part-time PTA Laboratory Assistant Near Tanner, AL

Position Summary

Provide competent instruction in the area of credentialed experience. Assist in the preparation and application of PTA laboratory learning sessions and participate in student evaluation. Adhere to general faculty guidelines specified by the Calhoun Community College Personnel Handbook, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Alabama Community College System policy. Commitment to the mission and philosophy of the PTA program which embraces inclusivity and promotes student success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist in laboratory learning at varied times and in varied formats, based on student schedules.
2. Advise, assist, supervise, and evaluate student learning.
3. Maintain student records.
4. Assist in the preparation of materials and equipment for laboratory courses.
5. Assist in the maintenance and inventory of PTA laboratory equipment.
6. Participate in scheduled in-service activities.
7. Be prompt and punctual when reporting to work.
8. Promote positive and productive relationships with faculty and students
9. Perform all duties with professionalism
10. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist program.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Alabama.
  • Minimum of 3 years of current or recent clinical experience as Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Prior experience in supervising personnel.
2. Ability to accommodate a broad range of student abilities and varied learning styles.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. A focus on details.
5. Enthusiasm for working with students in the laboratory setting.
6. Ability to work independently.
7. Certifications or accomplishments in the field.
8. Sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity.
9. Willingness to learn and work with other occupational areas as required.
10. An understanding of the role and philosophy of the Alabama Community College System.

Background Check Requirement

In accordance with Alabama Community College System Policy and guidelines, the applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a consent form and to submit a non-refundable $26.40 payment for a criminal background check. Employment will be contingent upon the receipt of a clearance notification from the criminal background check.
