JOB DESCRIPTION  
Job Title: Lead Clinical Social Worker
Department: Family Services
Location: Escondido 
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
Remote Status: Hybrid
Salary Range $75,000-$78,000

Position Summary The Lead Clinical Social Worker reports to the Clinical Supervisor and is a member of the site’s leadership team. The role will monitor and ensure the safety and overall well-being of clients and families served, make both formal and informal assessments of clients served to develop a permanency plan to ensure timely permanency is achieved. The Lead Clinical Social Worker must be active with BBS.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.   • Interview Unaccompanied Minors (UC), and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing psychological (mental, behavioral, and emotional) and risk factors.
  • Ensures that children’s physical, medical, educational, and therapeutic service needs are appropriately met.
  • Ensures that each child has an appropriate permanency plan and that every team member is working together to reach the permanency goal.
  • Conducts family assessments to develop individual/family case plans and treatment plans based on the needs of the child and family.
  • Ensures appropriate referrals are made for the youth and sponsor regarding mental health, medical, educational and placement stability.
  • Ensures that the birth families’ needs are being met and that the children are visiting when appropriate.
  • Ensures that all documentation in the UC portal is accurate and timely.
  • To assist resource families with the implementation of home assessments to ensure safety, stability, and positive transition of UC to placement no less than two times per month.
  • Assists foster parents with in-home implementation of individualized treatment plans and provides crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Through regular visits, ensures that all contracted services are being provided according to treatment/case plan in collaboration with the foster parent.
  • Maintains regular communication with interdisciplinary team members and provides updates on the progress of the case.
  • Completes appropriate documentation and ensures that case records are complete and in compliance.
  • Provides on-call coverage as assigned.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be active with BBS.
Language Ability:Bilingual in Spanish required. Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.Mathematical Ability: Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra and advanced statistical theory. Work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.Reasoning Ability: Apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.
Certificates and Licenses: Licensed or eligible for license required. If the candidate doesn’t meet the Key Personnel Minimum Qualifications Checklist and Attestation for licensure, the Clinical Supervisor will need to request a Waiver Request and Justification and Proposed Training and Supervision Plan. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Supervise, coaches, and mentors staff providing guidance to their work and learning including,when necessary, corrective/disciplinary action in a timely and professional manner.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
