Job Purpose:

Marie Claire is looking for an Assistant Editor! In this entry-level role, reporting to our Senior Editor, Fashion and Beauty, you’ll write primarily news content for our Fashion, Beauty, and occasionally other verticals, with an emphasis on driving commerce and expanding our readership.

You’ll be expected to deliver clean, prompt copy, constantly pitch new ideas, and incorporate commerce in line with both our affiliate goals and our brand values. You’ll be working closely with our Fashion, Beauty, Commerce, and Social teams, and occasionally assisting other verticals.

What you'll be doing...

• Write and update 4 news stories daily and contribute other stories (including sales, reviews, and buying guides) as needed
• Work closely with Commerce, Fashion, and Beauty teams to ensure that shoppable content is on-brand and contributes to affiliate goals
• Support Beauty, Fashion, Commerce, and Social teams as needed, and occasionally other verticals
• Represent Marie Claire at outward-facing events

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

• Relevant writing experience in fashion, beauty, or commerce
• Strong interest in fashion, celebrity, and how the two intersect
• Strong writing, reporting, and brainstorming skills
• Enthusiasm for working alongside different teams to meet goals
• Knowledge of the fashion industry and trends
• Excellent communication and self-motivation skills, in addition to the ability to meet tight daily and weekly deadlines.

Please note, the salary range for this position is $62,400 - $67,500

This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between Future US, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East 

This is a Hybrid role from our New York office, working three days from the office, two from home.
