General Overview: Provides maintenance support to all departments and ensures that all machinery and equipment are in safe working order within the facility. Troubleshoots and repairs all electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC equipment. Programs and reprograms controllers. Must have a working knowledge of A/C-D/C high and low voltage electricity, plumbing, pneumatic and other skills necessary to perform the job.

Overall Responsibilities:

The list below highlights the essential job responsibilities but is not an all-inclusive list.

  • Daily machine inspections of injection molding machines.
  • Helps other Maintenance Techs as directed by Group Leader or Maintenance Manager.
  • Performs established PM (Preventive Maintenance) procedures on machinery and equipment.
  • Performance maintenance and troubleshoots equipment as needed following proper LOTO procedures.
  • Repairs and rebuilds hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Plumbs and wires various electrical fixtures, molds, and equipment.
  • Assesses malfunctioning parts to identify root causes.
  • Determines parts to be replaced or repaired and works with Group Leader or Maintenance Manager to order replacement parts.
  • Controls inventory of support items required to maintain equipment.
  • Assures proper care is taken for all maintenance equipment using in PM process.
  • Controls spare machine parts inventory by utilizing the most cost-effective method.
  • Cleans and inspected all mechanical parts during PM process to ensure that they are properly functioning and replace worn-out parts immediately, reducing machine breakdowns.
  • Meticulously documents preventative maintenance activities, including service dates, replacement information and cost estimates to keep accurate records.
  • Participates in team meetings to discuss strategies on how best to maintain machinery & keep it working at optimal levels during peak season periods.
  • Notifies the supervisor of any faulty equipment or mechanical conditions.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the maintenance shop and follows 5S system.
  • Always wears proper PPE and always works safe in all areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by you Manager or the Group Lead.

Education/Experience:

  • Technical degree in a mechanical discipline a strong plus.
  • Focus on Electrical Technology a plus.
  • LOTO and Arc Flash training a plus.
  • Previous Forklift and Fall Protection training a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
