Harmonium is Hiring a Remote Accounting Assitant
This position is responsible for contract billing, collecting, and coordinating accounts receivable, and support/lead fiscal audits along with maintaining organized and accurate documentation for all functions. The Accounting Assistant – Generalist provides regular support to various fiscal service areas including but not limited to the Accounts Payable process.
Job Complexity
- Reconcile monthly activity and prepare month end reports, identify any irregularities, and provide recommendations for resolution
- Maintain up-to-date paper and electronic contract billing files (including claim forms, back-up documentation, correspondence, fully executed contracts, etc.)
- Assist with the preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger
- Ensure accuracy of all work in accordance with established due dates
- Perform monthly exclusion and debarment verifications
- Develop expertise in billing software and provide training/consultation to staff as needed
- Maintain records and documentation in a highly organized manner that is always accessible
Job Requirements
- Accounting degree preferred and will accept a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
- 2 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable
- 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
- Working knowledge of accounting programs (MIP preferred) and Google Workspace and MS office
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good interpersonal, time management analytical skills
- Good computer skills with Apple products
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 per hour
