Position Summary:

As a key member of the Talent Acquisition function, the Manager - TA will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing recruitment strategies for Mercury Insurance. In this position, they will play a vital role in creating a diverse talent pipeline to support our organization’s current and future hiring needs. They will bring a comprehensive perspective for attracting and retaining the very best talent in the industry via employer branding strategies, market research, process enhancements, and developing the TA team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement key talent acquisition strategy(s). Manage the development of a full candidate lifecycle experience from sourcing, recruitment, internal stakeholder partnerships and management, offer, on-boarding, integration, and career path planning
  • Establishes effective partnerships with business leaders and Human Capital Business Partners to understand and prioritize talent needs, identify strategic talent attraction/development initiatives, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the talent selection process. Partner with the Talent Management team to identify talent gaps for key positions and build pipelines accordingly
  • Build industry awareness and market intelligence regarding hiring and compensation trends and challenges. Educate and coach hiring managers on the available talent pool, recruiting best practices, and their role in supporting the company’s hiring policies, practices, and company values
  • Leads, coaches, manages, and develops a high-performing and results-driven Talent Acquisition team.
  • Promote diversity in the workplace and ensure recruiting strategies attract diverse candidates. Remains current on industry trends and explores new channels for recruitment in order to build a robust talent pool.
  • Serves as the ambassador of Mercury’s culture by providing hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition team tools/ recruiting playbooks to promote a positive candidate experience.
  • Responsible for sourcing, screening, and presenting candidates to senior business and Human Capital leaders on high-level key positions.
  • Develop and execute the employer branding and candidate experience across channels that align with company objectives and strategies
  • Tracks, maintains, and presents monthly/ quarterly recruitment metrics to business leaders and the Human Capital team
  • Negotiates contracts, manages relationships, and monitors the performance and efficiency of recruitment agencies and technology vendors.
  • Monitors hiring practices to ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
  • Other functions that may be assigned

Education:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field, preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred / MBA HR preferred

Experience:

  • 4 years of directly related experience managing a recruitment team

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing talent acquisition team focused on successfully managing a high volume of full life-cycle recruitment.
  • Recruitment experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry is preferred.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems is required.
  • Knowledge of hiring processes, TA best practices, skill development, and organizational analysis frameworks
  • Requires strong knowledge and proficiency in sourcing and building talent pools.
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with employees, business leaders, and the public.
  • Requires leadership, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and social media sites used for sourcing and networking with qualified candidates, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills are required.
  • Requires effective organizational skills.
  • Requires demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Requires demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to meet changing deadlines and competing priorities and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires the ability to operate independently.
  • Requires the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Must be able to work well in stressful situations while performing multiple, concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to sensitively handle confidential information.
  • Must be able to remain adaptable and flexible to business needs.
  • May require some travel as needed.
  • Regular remote attendance on a full-time schedule Monday – Friday, Pacific Time
