SPS is Hiring a Remote Inside sales representative

US Wholesale

US Wholesale Pipe & Tube is the nation’s largest supplier of galvanized mechanical steel pipe and tube. We service hundreds of small and medium-sized OEM manufacturers in dozens of market segments.

Our salespeople represent years of experience and knowledge that is specific to the pipe and tube industry. USW is located just over 30 miles northwest of Tampa in Holiday, FL.

Position Description :

As a Florida Inside Sales Representative, you will use your interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, sales experience, and knowledge of the market to develop new prospects and maintain existing relationships with customers.

You will talk with customers on the phone and through email from the office in Holiday, FL, and you will occasionally meet them face-to-face when conducting field visits.

By expertly meeting customer needs, you will ensure US Wholesale Pipe & Tube’s sustained growth as a business.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Enter, track, and trouble-shoot orders in a timely manner
  • Ensure that customer expectations regarding quality, delivery, accuracy, and follow-up on orders are met
  • Collaborate with the sales management team to develop programs, pricing arrangements, and supply agreements that focus on services rather than pricing
  • Target and research new business opportunities
  • Cold call leads from US Wholesale Pipe & Tube and personal research to cultivate relationships and generate new business
  • Effectively use the company’s technology platforms to :

o Communicate specific information regarding a customer visit or phone call

o Document customer problems and initiate internal action plans to correct issues

o Track daily sales data and quotes

Physical & Work Requirements :

  • Ensure professional appearance for meeting with internal and external customers.
  • Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time in front of the computer
  • Occasional travel may be required, including visits to the mill, various customers, and prospects
  • This role is supporting West Coast operations.
  • The hours worked are from 9 : 00am to 6 : 00pm EST.

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise :

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Highly proactive and takes great initiative; proven self-starter; goes the extra mile
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan / schedule / set appointments, etc.
  • Strong customer orientation with proven relationship building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure, and be able to search for a solution to a problem without blaming others
  • High learning agility

Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise :

  • Proven experience in a role responsible for managing the needs of customers
  • Knowledge of general principals of business related to revenue generation, cost impacts and bottom-line results
