Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $72,000

As part of the Office of Online and Innovative Programs, the Assistant Director of Operations will assist the Director of Operations by helping manage the University's portfolio of exclusively online degree programs, Summer and Winter programs, and micro-credentials. The successful candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills critical for ensuring processes run accurately and efficiently, and implementing new functionality.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Director in the coordination and development of exclusively online degree programs
  • Assist the Director in administering Summer and Winter Programs
  • Assist the Director in managing the Office of Micro-credentials
  • Develop an understanding of existing office processes and help define and implement new office processes as needed
  • Maintain documentation on office processes and updates

This position would be eligible for a hybrid work location under the NYS and Binghamton University approved remote work location agreements.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years or more of relevant experience in higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at various levels in the organization effectively
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and see projects through to a timely completion
  • Well-developed computer skills and the demonstrated ability to adapt to new software programs are crucial

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a student information system (i.e., Banner, PeopleSoft)
