Job Brief:

The CIC Developer Relations team's mission is to inspire, educate, and guide developers to better secure their applications.

We are looking for a Business Manager to support the Developer Relations team. You will enable this 24-person team of Developer Advocates and program owners to reach developers around the world by accelerating and optimizing the team's operating rhythm.

Responsibilities:

• 50%: Project management of the DevRel major operating rhythm - working with relevant workstream owners and internal stakeholders to ensure that work stays on schedule.
  • DevRel MBR - facilitate the team's Monthly Business Reviews
  • Leadership Team's operating rhythm - facilitate weekly and ad-hoc LT meetings
  • Cross-company rhythms - facilitate the tracking of DevRel's primary Rhythms of Business ('RoBs') - ensuring alignment and successful execution of work across DevRel/Product boundaries and DevRel/Marketing boundaries
  • Drive tracking of major team cross-functional projects to ensure accountability and forward progress
• 30%: Track and manage the team's spending and procurement requests - we need help to ensure alignment between DevRel and Okta's Finance and Procurement groups
  • Track and manage team spend - partner with finance and DevRel team leads to ensure that the team hits quarterly budget goals
  • Coordinate with Okta compliance and legal teams to track and unblock statements of work and legal agreements
  • Manage approval blockers and identify process improvement opportunities
• 20%: Assist Vice President of Developer Relations
  • Help manage schedule, meetings, and communications
  • Liaise with EAs to coordinate cross-company operating rhythms
  • Help our globally diverse team be connected, healthy, and inclusive; Work with a globally distributed team across Europe, Japan, and the US
  • Help arrange structure and agenda for team summits
  • Track and report on progress in Airtable project tracker and budget tracking worksheets

Skills:

• A successful candidate for this role will be comfortable being a 'velvet hammer,' and able to thrive in a globally distributed, Slack-based team environment
• Comfortable with persistently driving accountability on deliverable completion while remaining professionally pleasant
• Highly organized and task-oriented; Able to bring clarity and action from ambiguity
• Able to prioritize and multi-task work across competing priorities - and capable of communicating progress across your workstreams
• Comfortable working autonomously with an asynchronous workday - most of your day will be in Slack with individuals working across time zones

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a SaaS company working with developers
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in project management or business management, preferably working on projects that span multiple teams
• Located in the United States - many team members are located in Europe; cross-functional stakeholders are located in San Francisco and Seattle
• Flexible and adaptable - you thrive in high-growth, ambiguous environments
• Experience with Confluence and Google Docs
• Ability to build relationships across a large company (e.g., Marketing, Product)
• A high degree of honesty, integrity, and sound judgment

Additional Requirements:

• Experience project managing event sponsorships is a plus
• Experience with Airtable and/or Asana is a plus
