Membership Specialist Job Description
The CME Membership Specialist is a cross-functional role within the Memberships Team at CME Group. The primary focus of this role is providing customer service related to membership inquiries, facilitating the purchase & sale of seats on our exchange and managing, reviewing and processing applications for members. The CME Memberships specialist will also assist institutional clients in obtaining CME Membership or participating in applicable CME incentive programs.
This role requires strong customer orientation as well as attention to detail and operations experience. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational & communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment on a highly collaborative team.
Principal Accountabilities
Assist in operation of the membership seat market across multiple divisions and exchanges (~30 Million in seat sales per year).
Review bids & offers, ensuring completeness of documents, verification of authorized signatures,
Coordinate, review and process applications for individual membership.
Verification of seat ownership, completing seat sales, processing the payment of seat sales etc.
Process seat transfers between lessee & lessors, as well as between member firms and & their employees.
Provide customer service to existing customers, prospective clients and members by responding to all questions related to membership
Extensive interface and coordination with many CME Teams such as Finance/Accounting, Exchange Fee Team, Financial & Regulatory Surveillance, Client Development & Sales, Market Regulation, Legal, Clearing and Trading Floor Operations.
Manage membership records in key internal systems
Onboard new Firms and assist with system set up
Contribute to business process improvements and implementation of new initiatives
Cross-train with the Institutional Memberships (Concierge) Team to assist firms in obtaining CME Membership or participating in applicable CME incentive programs.
Assist & guide clients in obtaining CME Membership or participating in applicable CME incentive programs
Regular communications (calls, emails and meetings) with clients to assist with understanding membership options, exchange requirements and benefits of CME membership
Act as a single point of contact to guide clients through the application and review process.
Skills & Requirements
Prior experience working in a Customer facing or customer service role
Highly responsive and ability to multitask in fast paced environment
Strong willingness to contribute to business process improvements and implementation of new initiatives
Excellent team orientation, experience supporting/backing up fellow team members in daily work-flow or experience working across multiple teams, departments and stakeholders
Knowledge of CME Group products, memberships, seat privileges & fee structure strongly preferred
Prior experience working for a brokerage firm, clearing firm or proprietary trading firm preferred
Prior experience using internal software, systems and tools for managing client data or document signing or electronic information collection tools.
Microsoft Office and or/ Google Workspace Tools: Word, Excel.
