Job Description

Job Description
  • You will plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software systems to meet customer's business requirements.
  • You will consult with customers to identify and specify IT related requirements.
  • You will diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents.
  • You will manage accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment.
Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 45 - System Administration within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications

Your resume must have at least one year IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  1. Performing cost-benefit analysis to evaluate proposals for new or modified IT-related systems or components.
  2. Designing, developing, implementing and managing systems, networks and data.
  3. Using performance management/measurement methods, tools and techniques to optimize the functionality of systems, networks and data.
  4. Delivering IT services that are responsive to customer needs and requirements.
