Job Description

As a Material Yard and Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our yard or outdoor facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of materials and equipment. This position involves coordinating the movement, storage, and logistics of goods, often within industries such as construction, transportation, or warehousing.

Responsibilities

1. **Strategic Planning and Management:**

- Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.

- Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle.

2. **Supplier and Stakeholder Liaison:**

- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.

- Facilitate business relationships with clients and product suppliers.

3. **Inventory and Warehouse Management:**

- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.

- Arrange warehouse layout, catalog goods, plan routes, and process shipments.

4. **Problem Resolution and Supervision:**

- Resolve any arising problems or complaints related to logistics and material handling.

- Supervise, coach, and train the warehouse workforce.

5. **Performance Metrics and Compliance:**

- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.

Requirements and Skills

- Proven Experience

- Demonstrated working experience as a Logistics Manager.

- Successful distribution and logistics management track record.

- **Leadership and Communication:**

- Ability to lead and manage staff effectively.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

- Proficient in standard logistics software.

- **Independence and Multitasking:**

- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent - a plus if you have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
