About the Role
We're in search of a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our Clinical team. As a foundational member of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to influence patient care by collaborating with our dental specialists and operations team. As a Dental Hygienist at Ritual, you will play a vital role in shaping the patient experience, and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality dental care. Your dedication to excellence will be valued as you help us set new standards in oral health. This role is an in person role, based in New York City.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities as a Dental Hygienist at Ritual:
Patient Care:
Conduct dental assessments, including oral inspections, periodontal probings, gingival recessions
Perform professional teeth cleaning procedures, including scaling, root planing, and prophylaxis using cavitron, hand scalers and laser
Apply preventive materials like sealants and fluorides
Patient Education and follow up:
Instruct and educate patients about proper oral hygiene techniques
Discuss the importance of periodic dental cleanings, periodontal treatments and oral microbiome testing, replacement of missing teeth, dental implants, aligning teeth for function, oral and systemic health
Provide dietary advice relevant to oral and systemic health
Give detailed instructions on what to expect during and after dental cleanings
Schedule a follow-up, either in-person or online, to discuss oral microbiome test results
Imaging:
Take dental radiographs/x-rays and 3D CBCT and intraoral scans if necessary
Charting:
Document dental history, existing restorations, conditions and treatment plans in patient records if necessary
Maintain updated health history, including a list of medications taken by the patient
Sterilization & Infection Control:
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Follow health and safety regulations, including compliance with the dental office's infection control protocol
Collaboration & Referrals:
Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized treatment plans
Identify potential patient issues and recommend referrals to dentists or specialists
Stay Updated:
Participate in continuing education programs to stay abreast of the latest practices, techniques, and technologies in dental hygiene
Miscellaneous:
Order dental hygiene supplies as required
Assist with front-office tasks, such as scheduling and confirming hygiene appointments, as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Must Have
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution
Current NY state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
Proficiency in dental software and technologies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of current radiography procedures and relevant regulations
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Minimum 1 year working as a dental hygienist

Pay, Perks & Benefits at Ritual
The compensation range for this role is $50-60 per hour. Individual compensation for this role will depend on a variety of factors including qualifications, skills and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our competitive benefits plans.
