IMETCO is Hiring a Plant Manager Near Norcross, GA

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Plant Manager is responsible for all phases of plant operations including production, maintenance, receiving, and shipping. This person will ensure consistency and high quality. They will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation.

CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.

● Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

● Work with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production and shipping.

● Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.

● Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.

● Maintain inventory levels and control flow of product.

● Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives.

● Analyze workforce requirements.

● Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.

● Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.

● Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.

● Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiency and enhance productivity.

● Establish and implement purchasing policies, best practices, and procedures.

● Lead cross functional teams in continuous improvements.

● Communicate with research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies.

● Coordinate the training for all manufacturing personnel.

● Work with the purchasing manager to develop and improve supplier relationships.

● All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Extensive experience in plant management is required. Possession of at least a high school diploma is required and a post-secondary degree in chemical engineering, engineering, building and/or construction degree is preferred. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers. Excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to learn new concepts/procedures quickly. Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications. Ability to manage and successfully work under tight time constraints. Must have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a driver’s license are required. Overnight domestic and international travel required. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight travel required.
