TITLE: Groups Minister

REPORTS TO: Executive Pastor

DEPARTMENT: Adult Discipleship

Summary: The Groups Minister is a key leadership role on the Discipleship Team at Storyline. Primary responsibilities will include Groups, strategic oversight of pastoral care and Membership. The Groups Minister will serve on the Adult Discipleship Team as a visible leader for the rest of the church.

Oversee and Advance Groups at Storyline

• Cast vision and implement a vision, scope, and sequence across all Groups in Adult Discipleship
• Regularly visit Groups & maintain a pulse on the health of the Groups ministry
• Recruit, on-board & train Group leaders
• Grow the influence of Groups in discipleship within Storyline Church
• Work with the Legacy leadership team to host 2-3 connecting events per year
• Help legacy members connect to the life of Storyline Church

Oversee Care at Storyline

• Primary leader to create and implement care processes and care for Storyline members
• Staff contact for member care teams (Funerals, weddings, & crisis care)
• Work together with the Director of Missions to create a process for supporting members & non-members in need

Oversee and Advance Membership Process

• Write, plan, & coordinate Storyline’s member class
• Lead the onboarding process for new members
• Lead member engagement throughout the calendar year

Relationship with Storyline Team:

• I receive input from: Executive Pastor/Director of Adult Discipleship 
• I work with: Adult Discipleship Team
• I lead: Groups leaders, Care Team

Qualifications:

• Member of Storyline Church
• A daily pursuit of Christian maturity
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• At least 5 years of experience on a large church (i.e. 500 plus congregants) staff
• Decisive and proven leader with the ability to encourage, empower, and coach other leaders and teams
• Organized, strong delegator and follow-through, ability to cast and execute discipleship vision
• Ability to develop and organize effective ministry teams
• Ability to create a positive and intentional leadership culture
• Proficiency in GSuite, Microsoft Office, & Planning Center
