Hose & Automation of Ft Wayne is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Fort Wayne, IN

Description

Develop and manage the direction and daily activities of operational resources with the focus on organization, process, cash flow and information technology. This position will require managing the people, materials and equipment including operations/assembly, supply chain and systems. Responsibilities include the quality documentation and improvement of processes necessary for ensuring a high level of customer service during order fulfillment. Will interact with all levels of management, including Sales, Product Managers, Customer Service and Accounting.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • OPERATIONS/ASSEMBLY – Oversees the allocation of resources to ensure the efficient and effective use of manpower and materials. Establishes direction and metrics to ensure the quality and capacity of assembly, shipping and receiving are balanced to ensure order fulfillment is timely and customer focused.
  • INVENTORY – Responsible for the operational/assembly inventory to ensure adequate stocking levels, customer safety stock commitments and forecasting for future requirements. 
  • PLANNING - Accountable for the production planning practices taking into consideration short term/long term production requirements and integrating manpower and material availability. 
  • SUPPLY MANAGEMENT – Conducts customer and/or supplier site visits to evaluate production capability, capacity, performance, and other key business criteria. 
  • GROWTH SUPPORT- Evaluate proposals from potential suppliers. Develops technical and commercial selection criteria for supplier selection and negotiates price, delivery, quality, and service. 
  • CONTRACTS – Assists in Negotiating terms and conditions of sales and purchases with customers and suppliers, awards and administers the contact to ensure compliance during order fulfillment. Develop flow down procedure to issue purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms and conditions as negotiated.
  • SUPPLY MAINTAINANCE – Monitors and evaluates supplier performance. Determines and implements corrective actions to resolve impending supplier failures to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay order fulfillment.
  • LOGISTICS/ REVERSE LOGISTICS – Manage the transportation logistics to ensure distribution of product is completed with premier customer service at the most efficient cost, including a reverse logistics process dedicated to the reverse flow of products for the purpose of returns, repair and/or replacement.
  • SYSTEMS – Responsible for integrating electronic interfaces throughout the operation, supply chain and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Quality Standards.
  • TALENT DEVELOPMENT – Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, recruiting, coaching, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management and individual development.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with processes for QMS.
  • Lead team in solving complex problems as encountered.
  • Effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders and top management.
  • Assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to operations functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency with Computer Based Business Systems
  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills
  • 4 Year College Non-Technical Degree in Related Discipline or Equivalent Experience
  • 8 or more years technical knowledge/experience preferably with Hydraulics/Pneumatics.
