County of Orange, VA is Hiring an Assistant Registrar Near Orange, VA

Role Overview

Assists in the administration of electoral process by ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and integrity of elections and voter registration. Works independently and in team efforts to support and oversee the various functions of the Office.

***The opening is for a part-time Assistant Registrar to work 3 days a week initially, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The position will become Full Time starting July 1, 2024***

Role Description

  • First point of contact for the office. Interacts and engages with the public and candidates to answer registration and campaign questions.
  • Processing new voter registration applications.
  • Running reports as needed and compiling spreadsheets.
  • Filing, sorting, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assists in the preparation for all elections.
  • Other duties as delegated by the Director of Elections.

Qualifications

  • You must be a registered voter of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • You cannot hold elected office or be the employee of an elected official.
  • You must enjoy meeting people and serving the public.
  • You must be able to take directions and pay attention to detail.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software.
