We are looking for a financial management leader to join our finance team at Hero Digital. Have you had financial management experience at a broad range of companies, from startups to large corporations? Are you a well-rounded financial leader with the ability to go beyond the numbers? Can you discern trends and consider the broad business implications in them? If so, you may be the ideal person for this job! Candidates should be close to either one of out Chicago, Austin or Philadelphia offices and able to come in when needed.

What you’ll do

• Establishing yourself as a finance expert in a dynamic, rapid growth, PE backed Technology focused consultancy/agency.
• Working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment to provide accounting rigor and strategic insight around business decisions that affect the direction of the overall company as well as significant impact on our M&A activity.
• Preparing, analyzing, and interpreting monthly financial results and forecasts.
• Owning the internal and external financial reporting process and requirements.
• Responsible for all aspects of the preparation and conduct of our annual audit
• Responsible for all new accounting policies and adoption.
• Maintaining accountability for proper forecasting, accounting, and recording of transactions consistent with our policies and GAAP.
• Partnering with the CFO on the accounting for and integration in of additional M&A businesses acquired.
• Frequent one-on-one meetings with CFO to discuss company operations, performance, and strategy.
• Significant role in M&A activities and accounting. Lead teams to properly value and account for the acquisitions.
• Go to person for the CFO on ad-hoc projects
• Taking an entrepreneurial approach to the role, working collaboratively with the leadership team to get things done.
• Taking initiative to make valuable contributions beyond initial requests anticipating future questions/follow up requests actively resolving them.

Who you are

• BS or MBA in Accounting.
• Public Accounting experience a plus.
• CPA a plus
• Experience working with PE back companies is a plus
• Experience with accounting for M&A activity
• Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting, accounting principles, including financial modeling, and variance Analysis
• Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Excel performing complex data analysis including Pivot Tables and Macros.
• Experience working within a matrix environment supporting multiple business partners.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships and be inclusive of ideas.
• Communicates clearly, accurately, and succinctly both verbally and in writing.
• Works independently and functions well under pressure; consistently pays attention to accuracy and quality of work.
• Commutable to our Chicago, Austin or Philadelphia office.
